I should probably introspect a bit more before I'd understand it perfectly myself, but it seems it has to do with getting better at picturing what it's concretely like there at the house.
Reading the very first entries in your Travel diary were also very enthusiasm-instilling for me, I'm not actually sure if the feeling instilled this time was stronger than that, probably actually not. But then all the entries between the start and now didn't feel like they *added* very much to my ability to picture life at the house, though they certainly contained interesting information, just somehow in a different way. When reading this interview I felt I got better at picturing life in the house, in a particular way that creates enthusiasm.
But I probably should have introspected a bit more before I tried to write an analysis. And I suspect that how it works for me is not strongly generalizable.
